Default BSOD- DFI MOTHERBOARD - 4GB Ram

Here my story.

i overclocked my CPU and added 1 GB to my 3GB system and started getting bsods.

i put my cpu back to stock.

i had 4 gb before but one of the sticks was giving me bsods so i sent it back.

i tested my rig with 3GB and got no BSODS at all.

when i added my extra 1gb i started getting bsods so i went back to 3gb and all was fine.

I rang crucial and they said "we have never heard of DFI motherboards" and "your board probbably doesnt support 4gb ram"

i tried increasing RAM voltage with 4gb ram but it didnt help.

currently i am running 3GB WITh the New one that i think may be broke.

but i dont know what to do now :S

thanks ya'll

Hi Alexi,
Have you used memtest to check each stick? I would also check them in different slots one at a time.

Also make sure they are all using their recommended voltage and timings, you should check your board doesn't over or under volt them too much.

If it were me doing this i would set the bios back to default and test as above to find the common denominator, you may also like to check for a BIOS update as these can often help improve stability.

Also post the north bridge voltage too

I'm sure the guys will have more to add if these suggestions are not of help.

You need to test them at their rated speed though....so set the BIOS back to optimal settings and then enter your memory timings and voltages, and then set the NB strap to 333/1066, save and exit and then do memtest86 v2.xx test 5.

Ahem, am i the only one that thinks that thos GTL ref voltages are totally wrong?
Try 110 105 85 (from top to bottom), or set it to auto.

Edit: I posted when i should've been in bed, sorry. I didn't realize the bios pic was from Affiliate and not from comrad.

Sorry for the other post, sleeping 12 hours in 3 days makes me do that.
To change the strap: set dram speed from auto to 333/1066.
