The word that springs to mind is NEXT!

I can't see them selling many of those at that price to be honest.

It will be interesting to see how it performs though

Crikey, for three hundred notes, you would like to think it would be the single best performing mobo of all time.

To be fair look at the soundcard it has, it even has EAX 4.0.. remember how much the striker extreme was, what about £250? I am not saying I think its cheap though

yep... it's pricey to say the least and then you need to fork out for some decent DDR3 ram!!! Although I'm still tempted...

How can it perform any better than the DFI? Selected chips?

BTW the onboard cooling doesn't seem THAT impressive.. Unless it can really perform better both on air and liquid. Dunno if i would trust the included extension for dry ice or LN2, and it adds to the price while basically the people who use that stuff (0.1% maybe of the potential buyers) can usually afford to buy their own pot.
And cmon, dry ice on the NB... I think a single stage unit it's enough to keep it at -50 C or even lower and i think that + a lucky NB can get you to FSB 2400.
Aw and you are supposed to use LN2 on the nb and keep the stock stuff on the SB and the PWM... the heatpipe would not work any more at that temp, the liquid will freeze inside.
So basically they make you think that you can use LN2 out of the box but you really can't, but they charge you for that... The liquid cooling option is cool (pun intended) but i think the extension is useless for anybody except Foxconn, wich makes money out of it

Could be selected chips or a better bios?....

I agree, I think the onboard cooling is a bit rubbish for passive cooling but should be fine with water I would have thought....

better bios?
I put this thread up 10-01-2008 so they sure as hell have had time

Foxconn Blackops X48

I had to pile voltage on the NB with Foxconn Mars Living Review so not a clue what you might need to put through. The X48 seems to need higher voltage in any event

The bios looks good, but the key thing to me is what increments the voltage settings have. The Mars was pretty coarse
