Yes, you should be fine with that guide. It really is easy to do once you've made the USB stick bootable and set the BIOS so it boots from it.

I am currently tweaking a q9550 and am at 3.4. I think my memory is going to limit this overclock since its only 800. I might have to borrow some 1066 after I get this stable and see how that goes. I will def post a bios template once I have got this stable enough.

sorry for my bad english,but i have a problem and i need help.
my configuration it's in the signature,i've bought my q9550 recently especially for the extremely low vid(1.1125) and also because the previous owner have acomplished a nice overclock of 4.0 ghz on air with 1.192v on a ep 45 -ds3l.
after i;ve put it in the motherboard and i've tried to overclock,i've run into a problem,i can't get stability even at 3.6 ghz.it isn;t my first procesor on this mobo(q6600 on 3.808 stable with 1.408,E8200 4.0 ghz with 1.264).
what should i post (for you to see) to help me overclock at least at 4.0 ghz stable?
what is the max bus speed achieved on this mobo(i've run to fsb wall at 508)?

There's really nothing I can add to that to make things any better, it's really just a case of experimenting and finding out what works best for your CPU. I see you've already been tweaking the GTL refs, so maybe that's the key for your CPU?

but i want to go higher,3.8/4.0/4.2/4.4 stable .
i have a problem with this settings after all(it was to good to be true) i've tested with prime 95 small fft(first torture test) and after 23 min it was allright,but after that, BSOD,so it isn't stable....
i will come back with results and other modifications i've made to bios settings to get it stable...
you didn't answer my question,what is the max bus speed achieved on this mobo?


Ps:if i don't modifie the Gtl refs it doesn't work more than 10 minutes.there is the trick,i have to figured out which are the best settings for this processor.
do you know a similar vid(1.1125) and capabilities of overclock?
