Thanks Clunk, I just got the board in yesterday so I'll play with it for another Nine Hundred-Seventy four and 1/2 hours and post back what I find...

Yeah I know Asus Overvolts that's why I set everything Manually, as I said, I've been at this game for too many years(heh heh) All other settings were and are fine, this board with the four hours I have in on it just seems like it hates me, I've yet to be beat, Asus is looking at my Rampage now, heh heh second bricked board in 2 months, I'm hard on my stuff...

But I've fried 3 boards in 15 years and two of them were Rampage's in the past 2 months, the Other was the Abit IC7-G... Man that was a sweet board.

I have a query regarding the dram driving strength options on the DK X48-T2RSB Plus.

How do the numbers (1 though 8) correspond to actual driving strength? Is 1 the strongest or is 8 the strongest?

I believe 8 is the highest. It's been a while since I used this board, but I can check with DFI to make sure that's correct. I'll post back here once they've replied.

Yes, 8 is the strongest and it is a good thing to try and keep those two values low, should help reducing the risk of deteriorating the sticks.

Kelainefes - thanks for the input. Could you point me in the direction of the documentation where you read this?

I'l just be using 'whatever works best' but I will try and avoid the strong drive strength settings if at all possible, as I know it has killed a lot of D9.

Yes, sorry, I forgot to post back - They said that 8 is generally the highest, but their board with the current BIOS doesn't have that feature, so they were wondering if it was a different model?

Well my board has not arrived yet, and it will be just for benching so it wont actually be my current system or anything.

As per Eva2000's review of this board (X48-T2RSB Plus) on i4memory.com using what seems to be the second latest bios available (as of now), it certainly has the driving strength options in the bios, from 1 to 8. Another guy has the same board and his too has these options.

Although unlikely, perhaps the person you spoke to was getting it confused with the P45-T2RSB Plus, which to my knowledge does not have the drive strength options in the bios.

I needed rather high drive strengths for the different configurations I ran. The settings I used can be found here.

Thanks Praz. Hopefully my cellshock PC 8000 CAS4 kits dont need such a high drive strength as yours.

I would have asked in that thread but it is locked; what was the max FSB you were able to reach with that board? I am hoping for 550 - 620 FSB benchable on air, however this may be overly ambitious.

Did your board really need 1.52 vNB for 500 FSB / 600 MHz ram stable?

All voltages listed were the required amount. Should be able to reach your FSB goal. My board was 24/7 stable at 550 FSB. Had no issue booting into Windows at 600 FSB but I did no testing past 550.
