Default Asus X48 Rampage Formula & Rampage Extreme

These look interesting

Rampage Formula is the DDR2 version and the Extreme is the DDR3.

I'm just wondering how much mileage people think there is left in DDR2?

I'll grab one of these (not sure which) to review very soon

Looks to me like asus have been playing games again, trying to wrong foot the opposition. 10days ago they were the unamed manufacturer responsible for this.Intel X48 chipset put back - report Now the appear to have 2 x48 boards about to launch

looking round ddr3 kits are now about where DDR2 8000 performance kits were last january. It's just that DDR2 is so cheap.

Don't think it'll win any awards for looks

DDR2 is the way forward, what with it costing 3 sherbert bombs and a black midget gem - and me paying 70 quid a pop for a 2GB matched pair 3 months ago - bargain. I feel great.

And I could live at Center Parcs for 8 months of the year for the price of DDR3 RAM.

X48 can can eat my shorts if they don't come out with a DDR2 / WiFi AP bells and bollocks board.

...that's my considered and studied take on it all. Over.

Yep, 220+ quid for DDR3 it seems now. I paid 170 for my current set of Tracers about 6 months back.

I think, I want to see what the grass looks like on the DDR3 side of the fence....hows that for a crap metaphor?

P.S. yes, I forgot the link, good job we have a moderator that knows what he's doing
