Yeah, well I'm not going to be using Vista anytime soon and I mostly play older games (because there are bugger all new ones worth playing). Besides, UT2004 uses the Open AL system doesn't it?

I run Windows XP Pro x64 and I'm concerned with getting the best possible (stereo, not surround) audio from the following titles:

Unreal
Unreal Tournament
(Those two are probably both too old to work with modern hardware acceleration though)
Unreal Tournament 2003
Unreal 2
Unreal Tournament 2004
Unreal Tournament 3
Age of Empires III
Oblivion
Far Cry
Max payne 2
Dark Messiah
Call of Duty 4
Crysis/Warhead
Diablo II (uses some kind of H/W acceleration, doesn't it?)

With that in mind, would it be worth having Hardware accelerated audio?

It doesn't matter if you don't use those games in Vista, the point is that new games are not using old features because then they would need a audio engine for XP and another one for Vista.
I think UT2004 does not uses OpenAL, but UT3 does.
