Tell him not everything has to be maximised. It is called windows for a reason.

I very rarely if ever have a window fully maximised.

I dont tend to sit too close to it and its quite nice to be able to sit back from it and relax rather than sit with your nose up to the screen, that said, at 2560 x 1600 res the writings pretty small so if you had poor eyesight then it might be a struggle !

For PC related stuff, for me it's got to be the E0 E8600 as well as the 4870x2.

The other product of the year for me is a bit of a cheat really. It's not new at all but a bit of kit i had forgotten about. I needed a small mixing desk for live work with a local band i'm mentoring. All my normal desks are either 36ch or 48ch (miles too big for clubs and pubs). Packed away in a storage warehouse i use i had a 35 year old Orange 16ch desk i hav'nt used for 30 years. I had completely forgotten just how good it really was, nice control, very fully featured and to top it all only just over 6ft long. Just because it's old dos'nt mean it's crap or even not usable now days.

Sure.

I've only had the board for a few weeks so still learning the bios (G30 beta), swapped to this from an Asus P5E3

E8600 - Q820A599, VID 1.225V, Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme

4.0GHz at 1.225V (My summer 24/7)

4.25GHz at 1.30V

4.50GHz at 1.3625 (This is a work in progress, I am still trying to find the minimum vcore and with the ambient air temp in the mid thirties here it's not really conducive to overclocking at present.)

Sub 10 is proving elusive as well (disregard the vcore in cpuz, it reads the nb for some reason )

The board/graphics card, take no notice of the nb fan, I had to use a hdd cooler fan, the TU120e precludes the use of the supplied nb fan as it is too high a profile to fit under the cooler, I need to shorten the wiring.

I haven't pushed past 500MHz yet, I use the 500 because the dividers available will give 1333MHz for the memory.

That comparison thread was what brought me to the forum in the first place as it was in the Google result for Black Ops, unfortunately is seems to have died.
