Default Quick check on new mobo

I just wanted to check that I am making the right choice with a DFi LP UT X48-T2R. I will be using it with my current system hopefully with some ballistix PC2-8500 instead. I hope to get a better OC with my Q6600 on this board as well as prolly getting an E8600 in the future. Should I stick with this board or does anyone have any other recommendations. It will be mainly for benching & folding. I would prefer not to spend more than £200

Thanks in advance.

Max OC is 4GHz Pi Stable on 1.6V. Even just a tad above that & it will hang in windows.

LT X48 T2R + E8600 gave me 4.5Ghz on air with no effort at all. Great board, great chip.
The LT and UT are identical apart from the cooling solution on the UT, if you dont need the extra metal or want to use your own cooling then the LT might be a cheaper option.

I have only good things to say about mine. Alot of folks on here use em after reading El Clunkerinos review, it should give you a running log of all thats good and bad related to this model.

Since so many of us use it you should be able to get any issued licked pretty quick too.

Looks like I'm making the right choice then. Just think, I was about to buy a Rampage formula

If you're 4GHz stable on the P35, save your cash, that CPU aint going much higher than that.

Of course, if you just want a new toy, then the UT is a great board.

I thought the extra volt options may make a diff, also I may get a higher stable OC coz of the little/no vdroop. On my gigabut vdrop is ~.5V & droop is ~.3V. Also I was thinkin of droppin a 2nd GFX for folding . very nice new toy also. did I mention I'm not paying 4 it.

4GHz stable from a G0 is as good as it's going to get really with water cooling regardless of the board.

You may or may not be able to get your voltages down, but I wouldn't bet too much on it

K, so I got it last night & tried my ballistix in it. I can't get it to even post @ 533MHz, 5-5-5-15, 2.2V which is there rated speeds etc. with 2 stix. I am currently running 1 stick perfectly stable @ the same settings, I tried both sticks in different arrangements but it just won't boot. I have also run both sticks seperately in each slot successfully. I had the same problem with my last mobo (Gigabyte P35C-DS3R) but I thought it was just the board..

Any ideas?

Sounds like a dying stick of memory.

Have you done memtest yet? Memtest86+ V2.xx test 5 for at least an hour on each stick or until there are errors.
