DFI i7 motherboard

What is the timeframe for release of the DFI version of the i7 motherboard? Will they only use ddr3 memory?

Dunno about the release date, but Core i7 will use DDR3 only and it's not something the motherboard manufacturers can change, as the MCH is integrated in the CPU.

DFI say that the board itself should be ready sometime mid November, but then they have to tweak the BIOS, so that part is anyone's guess.

The other good news is that they have split the Vcore and Vdimm circuits and added some protection to avoid leakage across the circuits, thus avoiding damage to the CPU - At least this is how I've understood it

Well it looks like i7 is going to be pretty damn good at overclocking.

Just read this.

I've read in the forums though, that although they have run it on air, it was hitting around 80deg C. Still it's only a bench run and it's impressive to see it beating an LN2 cooled QX9650 at 5.35ghz.
