Lightbulb Looks like ATI will continue to dominate next gen and beat Nvidia to DX11.

Source: The rumor feed

It looks like the GT300 will be the first Nvidia card to do DX11, and ATI will be there first with their RV870 Radeon 58XX series.
ATI will have a few months lead over Nvidia in the DX11 department and may have superior hardware as well.

What do you guys think of Nvidia's slacking lately? I don't consider myself a green fanboy but I did prefer Nvidia cards until they started to re-brand their chips with only slight or no architecture changes.

Not sure they were slacking as such, i think they have put alot into CUDA and getting the whole physx thing going.
The 260/280 are great cards but they did rip the arse out of it with the launch pricing.

They have had a lot of problems with faulty chips too, mainly the mobile versions for which they have put aside $200,000,000.

We'll see, I'm not fanboy of either but it was sure Nvidia will keep its control but ATI came with HD48X0 and showed once again everything is possible, until we'll have both products at hand for testing we can't tell what will happen.
