Default Problems Still :(

Ok built new system in june i think an had nothing but trouble since.

I have just put in a new 700W PSU tried 6 different sticks of RAM an my Asus p5k still wont post.

I have also got a Gigabyte P35-DS3R motherboard that i have tried which will get the the post screen an just sit in an endless loop restarting over and over which is more than i get from the p5k.

I either have 2 bad Motherboards (not unheard of just would be really bad luck) or the CPU or GPU are the problem. CPU is a Q6600 an the gpu is a ATI radeon HD3750 toxic edition 512MB GDDR4.

Is there anything else you guys could think it mite be? hopefully i can find a shop that has sum cheap 775 socket cpu's so i can buy one an test it if that then works i'll have to send the Q6600 back. Would i need to send it back to overclockers or intel never had to RMA a part b4.

thanks hopefully sum1 is still awake at this ungodly hour or else i'll ave to check b4 i head out cpu hunting in the morning.

the way its goin tho ima have enough pieces to make 2 desktops at this rate lol

Does the GPU work in another PC?

Will another card work in your two boards?

I f you've tried that, then I would say that it's RMA time and you've been unlucky.

not tried the gpu in another machine an not got a spare card to try.

One thing i noticed with the p5k is when i tried turning it on all fans an stuff spin up no light on keyboard an nothing on screen turnin on an off afew times it would start up the fans an cut out after 1 sec then i try to it on an hay presto the keyboards lights flash an it would post an load windows up an run fine for 36+ hours of however long i had it on but next time i came to start it same old problems. Its become harder an harder the last few days to get the 1 sec boot an reset thing to work an even when it did it the lights would light up an it would get to the xp screen but be darker than normal an just sit there or it wouldnt post fully an nothing would appear on the screen

No local PC repair shop near you? Get them to test all your gear, or maybe the GPU first, then each board...shouldn't cost more than £20, which is less than overclockers will charge you for an RMA.

P5K works fine with a Q6600 though, so maybe the CPU is faulty?
