Default new memory!

HI GUYS.. I recently bought a crucial ballistix 6400 cl4 2x2gb kit..

now one of those sticks just died.. and im about to return them and get a new pair.
but if i want the same i need to send in both modules and w8 for their return.

or i can just purchase new memory and get the money back for the above mentioned. aka no interuption

im loking at recieving 80euro for those.. and i am not gonna buy the same again.. it would cost me 95euro.. hence not..

so still max is about 100euro but i can get 4gb 6400 ocz cas 5 for 70E

or as im thinking corsair dominator 8500c5d for about 100 if the difference is worth it..

any mindblowing advise?

Yes, don't let your women on our motorways

I would certainly recommend a 4GB kit for that kind of money. Sooner or later, you'll need 4GB, so now is a good time to make the change.

The problem is finding a 4GB kit that will overclock as well as the Ballistix 2x1GB...it's not going to happen.

I would take the larger modules over tighter timings and higher bandwidth personally.

What do you know about this?? Can you shed any more light on it from your end??

Never mind the RAM questions. Important stuff to be found out here.

The 8500 stuff will only be of use if you are going to use a high FSB for overclocking - if you have the money to spend, it's always nice to have the extra bandwidth if you need it, but if you are on a budget, the 6400 stuff will do fine.

As for the RAM, I had some of the ballistix and one of mine died too.... luckily for me they have a UK RMA service.
