Default PSU - Crossfire Certified

Guys,
Im building a new rig - currently looking for a PSU to support my components. In the end i want to be running 2x Radeon HD 4870 in Crossfire and i came across a PSU that claims to be Crossfire certified. Do i have to have a crossfire certified PSU to make this work in the future and what makes it Crossfire compatable?

Thanks

Normally i ingore all that, if the PSU gets good reviews across the board you are fine.

The Corsair 520, 650, 750, 1000w models are all great and alot of folk on here use them.

Then there are the coolermaster units from the 850w upwards are great too. Seasonic, Zalman, BeQuiet and Antec all make noteworthy units too
.
Crossfire comes in several flavours, and different cards drain more power than others, especially when overclocked. Then if you have your CPU overclocked and aload of hard disks, a water pump and a bunch of other kit then the certification only goes so far i reckon.

If you post everything you plan to use with the PSU and how much you want to spend we can help you find one to fit the bill nicely.

Ok here goes. Eventually, i'm going to be running:

DFI LAN Party UT X48-T3RS Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.16GHz (1333FSB)
Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) x 2 in Crossfire
G.Skill 4GB DDR3 HZ PC2-12800C7 1600MHz (2x2GB) CAS7 Dual Channel Kit x 2
Western Digital VelociRaptor 300gb SATA x 2
Plus at least 4 peripherals most of which charge from my PSU including my phone and mp3.

Thanks for the help guys, im really appreciating it

EDIT: I suppose when i do start to clock it i will either be using a S*$% load of fans or some sort of liquid cool system so these should probably also be accounted for

I'd go for a Corsair HX 750w model with that, its a great psu and its easily worth the money.

Usually 120 mm fans use from 1 or 3W at most, but if you get some insane turbine from Delta they go up to 35W (!!!); a pump is under 20 w usually but models that require more are common; anyway most setups won't need that much pressure/flow.

I suppose for something as important as a PSU i can't really have a budget. I just don't want to be changing it every time i add new bits and pieces. I suppose about £50-80 is reasonable.
