Hey there and welcome to the forums.
Can you fill up your system specs in your user cp>extra options?
What drives are you trying to connect to the purple ports?
Are you trying to set up a RAID array?

Hi koiman,
welcome
the purple sata ports are the gigabyte(Jnicron) controlled. Have you checked that the controller is enabled & in the right access mode for your drives, fiollowing flash ??

As Kelainefes says it would be help to see your specs, in particular the drives you are using and their access modes.

AS I SAID BEFORE I HAVE SPENT NEARLY A WHOLE DAY CHANGING THINGS IN THE BIOS REBOOTING TO SEE IF THE DRIVES WORK THEN CHANGING SOMETHING ELSE IN THE BIOS AND DOING IT ALL OVER AGAIN

Sorry nio need to shout (using capitals )
So you have Hard Drives: 250,3X500 Four hard drives I'd always use the Intel sata ports in preference to the gigabyte ones (purple) in any event. The Intel sata ports perform better and also support Sata DVDs. They also support removable HD such as those in your case. It's strange that the purple ones don't work. Are you running the 3x500gb in raid or anything?? Doers the single 250gb get seen on the purple sta ?? , or is it the 3 x 500 that the issue is with.

THe gigabyte purple sockets do seem to be a bit flaky looking at these 2 threads GA-EP45-DS5 G-SATA Problem! Please Help! & GA-EP45-DS5 Problem with SATA DVD R/RW on Sil5723 controller

Ok right you've done the same as I did on the Gigabyte GA X48T DQ6 fill the Intel sockets up & use the gigabyte as an overflow. I had 1 drive on there & used the 2nd socket for the external E-Sata bracket that came with the board. (only 2 sata ports on the jmicron. X48).

Did it work ok before the bios update ?

You mean the bios off the CD ??
You'd be better getting the latest version from gigabyte GA-EP45-DS5 (rev. 1.0) Bios Downloads
