Decided to try the AMD GPU Clock Tool v0.9.26.0 and see if it was any easier to use than Afterburner.....

Did a slight tweak - 816/1134 to see what the outcome would be using the stock fan, and 1.08mv (stock)....

This is also using the ATI 10.1 Hotfix, which has knocked the scores down some - try later with full fat 10.1

Is that still with the factory HSF? 816mhz is rather sweet! After market cooler should bring you 850+ with ease I'd have thought.

Great work! That's one nice 5870 you have there.. :-) Those temp are pretty golden. Had any issues? Have those 5850's seen 900+ elsewhere?

Thanks Joe - that's what I thought..... No issues apart from the 10.1 catalyst is crap - gone back to 9.12 and getting better scores....

They've had them to 1000/1210 on the stock HSF using the same software and XFX card Here

Have mine HD5850 on 800/1175mhz with stock voltage.
Overclocking a Radeon HD 5850 - 3D Tech News, Pixel Hacking, Data Visualization and 3D Programming - Geeks3D.com

What I find strange is that your graka does 15... points on 3dmark vantage and mine also, I mean my HD5850 is an bit less then your graka, difference in cpu??

What I find very strange is that with an HD4890 I've reached 18... points with 3dmark vantage and with an HD 5850 15... points.

Ah well, just got the card one day, will play furtheron.

Don't know why there is so much difference between cards rooie - they should all be identical as ATI manufactured first revision cards.

The cards that site clocked had a modified bios and some serious overvolting - mine is at ATI voltages, and with the original bios....

That said, I've been tinkering again with the clock settings, and upped the fan to 50%......

Keep pushing those cards guys, nearly 875mhz is a great result. Are you buying that HR-03 GT cooler?

rooie - I installed the 3DMark06 Basic Edition (Build 1.1.0) installer, and then patched it with the v.101 0906a patch.
I've also got a licence for it.

I have it installed on a separate drivers partition because of problems originally installing it - seems to make all the difference.....
