Nah just crashed. Installed vista ultimate and made no difference. 10Mhz above stock in rivatuner was a green screen Still managed the same oc with the overtune utility tho, 810/850
If I'm having this much trouble with a software oc is RBE even worth a try?

On face value, no. I would see how much you could sell it for and check what deals are available. I cant see you losing too much on it, they are quite new after all.

Regarding the max frequency you can reach, there is no difference that I know of overclocking via software or via BIOS flash.

One last thought, could it be my PSU that's not up to it? 2 years old, 700W with 2 IDE cd-roms, 3 sata drives, cpu fan, case fan, moderately oc'd board and cpu, 4 dimms and this 4770?
i get my 4770 in the morning any tips how i should run this to get the best out of it like what software to oc it with or drivers to run with should i use asus bios or stay with soft oc so on

I would start with Rivatuner for overclocking, GPUz for monitoring and Furmark for stabilty testing.
You may also like to run 3dmark for some extra stability checks.
