Default Newbiest question of the year

Hi again, I've been reading about my motherboard:MSI P45 Neo-F and I just cannot findout where my northbridge is, as I need to buy a new cooler for it, I've linked a picture of the board if anyone could tell me, would be really appreciated

Hi the NB is under the silver heat sink in the middle of the board. the smaller heatsink off to the left towads the bottom is your south bridge.
If you download the manual you will find a diagram in it usually which helps locate components. Also the NB can also be called MCP like on nforce boards.

Odd thing though, i dont see the P45 Neo-f on the msi support site, they have a couple of Neo P45s i just dont see the "F" version.

There should have been a manual in the box which should have a diagram of the board layout. This should be helpful in locating all the various components on your mobo.
I thought i could find you a link to a copy of it, but i couldnt find your exact board on the MSI site.

neither could I , this was as far as I got
Products List - Socket 775 (Intel P4) just tooo many Neo's The downloadable manual is often better than the one in the box, usually has a bit more detail. As affiliate13 says it will be in the download section of your motherboard.

As you don't know where your northbridge is, how do you know you need a new cooler for it ?
