Ok what is the scariest game you played?
For me it is Doom 3, and games never scare me..
And it wasn't the graphics or what happened, but the goddang music as ie the pumping low frequencies effects before a zombie pops up in your face.... i was scared before i saw the monster!!
Maybe someone lost those effects becase of the spekers-headphoes they use but i used studio monitors and the stuff rattles your bowels (not speaking figuratively)!!!
Maybe i should add that i am really sensitive to music as in i put on music i like i am happy, and if i am forced to listen to stuff i dont like i am sad so..
Now it's our turn cmon!!!

Doom 3 it has to be for me as well.
Nothing comes near to it, playing that late at night , in the dark, what an experience.

At one point my kids thought I was going to have a heart attack , and actually hid the disc so I would not play.

Come to think of it where is that disc?

I think the most memorable scary moment for me was in the first Unreal game, where you are walking up a corridor and the lights go out, total blackness, and then you hear something running towards you, and you can't quite place where the noise is coming from because it's so dark and you don't know which way you are facing ....I think it was the sound effects that made that though.

Obviously, I don't wear panties whilst gaming, they tend to chaffe

The original Res Evil put the wind up me, esp the bit where the dogs break thru the glass at the start.....

And last but not least 'Monkey Island' games, they gave lots of liquid induced laughter moments!

I gotta agree.
That game has a real nervous kind of energy to it.

The bit at the beginning when you see someone in the corridor and first realise there are ghosties about

FEAR is pretty scary, but way back in the day - Aliens vs Predator. Running around in the dark as a Marine, those Alien sons of bitches sometimes just ran out, screaming, at the blink of an eyelid. Now that had some real edge of your seat tension! Best played in a dark room.

I'd forgotten about that one... yeah that was great! Did you ever play that survival mode thing, where you just had to stay alive as long as possible? Scary fun!
