Default dead space

i noticed there isn't a single thread or post about this game on the forum.
IT'S AWESOME!!!

if you like scary horror games like doom 3 this really is a must have.
you'll really get sucked into the game once you start to play it.

i won't tell you much about the game but here are some points:
- it has no hud. meaning your life/ammo indicators and that sort of stuff. all built into the game.
- 3rd person view. The view the entire game from over his shoulder.
- different weapons. You don't have the standard minigun and rocket launcher. They've got original "guns".
- it scary as hell

IGN Review
This review is for the ps3. But i've played it on the pc.

That looks pretty good

I like the 3rd person over the shoulder perspective.

bought it, played it for about 1 hour, it went dark (IRL) and then I turned it off and put it back in the box as I was sh*tting myself big sticks.

Seriously Scarey, graphically pleasing and most importantly incredibly brutally gruesomely brutal. 2 words.. Line Cutter

Just don't play it on your own in the dark man, it'll give you the heebie jeebies.

p.s. there has been a Manga movie released in conjunction with the game, the movie is a prequel depecting events leading upto where you start the game.

Not bad at all if you don't mind Manga, and some of the animation is absolutely amazing, I don't know if its afghanistanimation good, but its up there with the best of them. Very Event Horizony in many ways, but I liked event horizon so it floated my boat.

Got this title 2 days ago. What can I say? Not going into the gaming aspect of it just yet, but a comment of the graphical style and content alone ... it's just so damned sexy! For anyone running a top end rig, play this, your graphics card will love you.

The game itself, well at the moment I'm on the engineering level and I've walked away cursing and swearing. Besides the fact it does make you freak out, has great set pieces, atmosphere by the bucket-load and can cause you to jump more often than a skydiver on speed.

It does, however, have one or two annoying traits (for me that is): camera angle - there are times when the angle just doesn't help at all, especially in zero-G when trying to establish your 'breadcrumb' path. Then there is the rather sluggish response to movement control, especially in a do-or-die combat situation. Have died more times due to the character suddenly becoming unresponsive to the point of piss taking (plus camera control is a real bastard in those moments). But, I am sure it will be one of those 'quirks' of the game that you will either master or put up with. Either way, I still think this is a fantastic game.

Just wait til you upgrade the armour for the first time. Thank God for a game developer who hasn't taken the lazy arse way out and tacked on a paper doll menu system of 'drag-and-drop'. Sheer brilliance. Play this in the dark and on your own at your peril ... oh, and if you have a weak bowel ... don't even bother.

Just remembered: upon starting the game DO NOT 'press any key' - leave the the game intro run. Trust me, it is the creepiest rendition of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" I have ever heard, and yet, strangely beautiful in a haunting sort of way ... *shudder*
