Godsdog got me to reinstall Messenger last week and all my old friends from UT were still saved there and still playing so i dug out a copy of UT GOTY and had a bit of a turn on a few maps.
It was great fun. ill throw up some server IPs for Zark clans which use the modified sniper rifle. This mod makes for great run and gun matches.

icft - Instagib?
I only really play Zark, man i love how quick it is. i completely forgot how much better it is than most modern games from a responsiveness point of view.

Oh my god... i loved that game. I played it so much that i actually turned up about 10th on the NG world stats for instagib deathmatch.

Simpler times... No gaming mouse... No 5.1 surround headsets... No Team speak... Just me and a Pentium 2 with 128mb RAM.

Still... Counterstrike: Source can be forgiven for all those things...

Yes, instagib ctf, they use the haste and that skull relic on the server too which can make a game interesting.

Never seen them used in ladders. Come to think of it, I've never been in a ladder. Never really liked the clan scene tbh it was too much like hard work.

I just dipped into a select number of open servers when I felt in the mood.

Being in a clan requires being available for training sessions and matches, wich translates to sacrificing your social/private life sometimes.
Can be done when young (under 25) with loads of free time, but when you want to relax a little and then go to bed but it's training time...
Or, you could get in a fun clan, where basically people play scrims from time to time just for the fun of it (getting their arses handed to them ) and shares server bills and other stuff.
