Default Spares and Repairs

Spares and Repairs

This Guy it turns out lives down the road from me, I just won a Razor Lachesis 4000DPI Gaming Mouse for 5 quid.. Granted it might not work (I'll found out when i walk down and pick it up) But if it does... BARGAIN!

Thought I'd post his stuff as I'm sure some of us are capable of fixing some issues these items may have.

All items are sold as spare/repairs... so expect them to be DOA.

Nice stuff, keep an eye open on stuff like that factory liquid-cooled GTX280, it's got a full cover copper HK block which costs about 70£ on its own I believe.

Default Razor Lachesis

Well.... Not bad at all!!! Not fully tested yet but things are looking good! its looks new... not a mark nor a scratch.. no box... just the mouse in a bag. I plugged it into my MacBookPro (I'm at work ya see) and everything lights up but it needs drivers to work). I plugged it into an XP terminal here in the office and its works but again needs drivers.. the curser only moves once I press the centre button. moves for a few seconds then stops.. I've not loaded any Drivers and maybe the firmware is currupt... I won't know till i get it home and fully test it. I've downloaded the latest drivers and latest firmware.. I'll report back.

Ive just go in and havnt tested yet... But I've started the RMA process anyway... all Razor mice have a 2 year warrenty these models having been out that long.. so if i can blag not needing proof of purchase or a box then if it faulty I maybe able to get another.

I'll update soon.

It works!

Well appears to....

I had no movement until I hit the profile button (has 9 bloody buttons!) then it moved. I ran the firmware update and now it seems to be fully functional..

I'm not sure if I'm a huge fan as am soooo used to my Logitech G5. But I'll give it ago for a week or so. Every button can be programed and even use macros assigned to a button its then saved to the mouse not the PC so if i plug it into say a LAN rig or gaming laptop I have my setting stored in my mouse.

Lets see how they works out in the real world.

I'd say do it! its a bargain..

The guy seemed very well organised mid to late 50's very helpful offered to deliver for free (lol.... I live 5 mins away) and when he opened the door he had alot of wrapped gadgets...

seems worth a try.. He's not hiding anything. they MAY/MAY NOT work... if you get it cheap enough then score.

J.

EDIT:

Well. . . after using it in COD4 and really starting to like its shape, feel and button layout it died! LOL... The cursor stopped... all my buttons still work.. its lit up and all that... but no movement.. Which i find odd as it was working fully for about an hour.

Nevermind... I'm trying to find a fix or someone else with the problem as RMA may not work :-p turns out Razor are not great when it comes to replacing products.. You have to have Proof of Purchase and they have to be an Authorized re-seller. This maybe why the ebay dude has a few Razor products.. products returned to the store would of had to refund and the store can not get them replaced.

I've not given up yet thou.

YEAH!! I've beaten the system! WAHOOOOO!!! :-p I've been emailing back and forth with Razer since the day I realized the mouse didn't work in hope of an RMA just to find out that Razer will not RMA anything without proof of Purchase. Any who I kept pushing and they have decided to honor there warranty...

Sweet. Even with the cost of postage factored in, it's still a huge deal.
