I wonder if the nickel plating will affect the cooling?

And I wonder how much extra it will be

Well aren't Thermalright coolers all plated in nickel, (except the V2)? Oh wait the fins are bare aluminium right?
I was wondering if lapping the base and having it silver or gold plated would be good for cooling.

I think it's just the base and possibly the heatpipes, the fins are aluminium yes

Not sure about the silver or gold, I think they are good conductors of electricity, but I don't think they are the best conductors of heat are they?
