Default Lanparty x48 lt northbridge cooler.

The stock one leaves a bit to be desired. I considered installing a thermalright HR-05, and I was curious if anyone had any experience with it. I am looking to essentially have a push/pull setup with a true 120 or a ultima 90 (single fan on the cooler, one at back of case). Preferably the true so I can just put this ultima 90 on my other box.

This is what I have been considering:

Thermalright HR-05 IFX

I have also been looking at the sli version:

Thermalright HR-05 IFX/SLI

Anyone tried these on the lanparty x48/x38s? Any luck?

Looks good, that's basically what I wanted to see. I think I'll stick with the IFX non sli version though as I don't want to block that first slot -- I have 2 3870s I'd like to try on it sometime. I guess that means I won't be mounting the true pushing air out the back of the case, but that's ok I guess. Its only an extra degree or so of difference in temps. I was just concerned with the slightly warm air blowing into the PSU.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you should be able to mount the TRUE on there vertically with the non-SLI HR-05.

I read a review where thisguy was swearing that he was getting better temps with his TRUE with the fan pulling air through it and not pushing into it.
Mounting the fan on the back of the case side could allow you to fit the TRUE.
Not sure, though.

I suppose it depends where it was pulling the air from.

If it was pulling fresh air from a rear fan that was blowing inwards, that might explain it?
