Default Asus P5E North Bridge Temps?

I'd like to know what temps you guys with my same mobo are getting on your North Bridge, since it seems i cannot get it past 32 C, at least according to the motherboard's sensor. I know the CPU temps reported by the motherboard are bs, i use Core Temp for that.
But what about the NB sensor?
I am running the NB on 1.51 V at 445 MHz with FSB Strap at 333 MHz, the SB is 1.125, the FSB termination Voltage 1.42.
One more thing, i got a 25 cm fan on the side panel blowing all over the mobo, and the CPU cooler is down blowing too, so the NB is getting some airflow, but everybody is saying how that chip gets hot compared to the P35..
Any advice on how to check the temps? I got a probe thermometer, but i wouldn't know how to get it close to the chip's core.

The P35 doesn't actually have a NB temp sensor, it has a Motherboard temp sensor which is located at the top right near the RAM slots, and that is what gives you the temp readings which are often mistaken for NB temps

The best thing you can do for your NB temps is to remove the stock cooler and at the very least, make sure it sits flat, and replace the stock thermal paste (cement ).

The ASUS P5E has the X38 chpset.. so when you wrote P35 you meant X38, or you were talking about the actual P35?

Youu'll find i'm pretty certain it's the motherboard temp rather than the NB temp.
I'm not sure exactly where the sensor is but most Asus boards now report mobo rather than NB.

luck

I was talking about the P35 that you mentioned in your first post, no point in comparing X38 and P35.

My second comment was regarding what you can do to get the best temps from your NB on your X38.

Ok, i will put thermal paste on the nb and sb, bit i've serched around, and found out that when you said cement you weren't joking!
I'm thinking of using a hair-dryer, shielding the rest of the mobo with towels.
You think it will be enough (i have no heat gun)?
Are all the components attached with that sort of resin or just the NB? Will acetone be ok to clean it off and if yes, is it dangerous for something in my PC?
Sorry for asking so many questions, but i'm new to this thing and don't want to ruin our Prrrecioussssss

It's just the NB. Only asus seem to use this stupid cement like gunk. Do it while still warm or heat it with a hair dryer. gently use a screwdriver resting on the pci slots & memory slots, to just break the seal.

Acetone(nail varnish remover) is about the only thing that will shift the gunk. I put some on a wad of kitchen towel & then wipe the NB, that ensures it doesn't go anywhere but the area you want.

luck

Maybe i'll feed like 1.65 V to the NB and let it prime95 for a while, then use a hairdryer to finish it off...
If i don't post today it will be cause i tore the NB off...

Angle nosed pliers used as a lever will get it off.

I'm wirting this from dad's laptop.

Well, taking NB and SB off was easy.
I screwedup in the cleaning process twice:
1- scratched circuits around SB IHS with a cutter, in attempt to cut off the big pieces of glue still attachedat te edges. The PCB around the NB doesn't have circuits thee and i didn't noice that the SB did until it was too late.
2- the acetone i used contained parfumed oils as i was the type you use to clean fingernails... and while acetone evaporates, the oils do not; and i spilled some on the mobo i used cotton discs and when pressed against the IHS they released some acetone.
The oil may be shorting some circuits, although i think it's the scratches.

First attempt to boot, the screen stays black and the beeper stays mute; pressing the power button for 4 secs didn't turn the PC off.
Second attempt, nohing again but i hear a sound between frying and electrical sparkles, coming from the SB.

Me order a new mobo right away monday morning.
And try again.
