Default 3-pin CPU fan?

I have a question. Installing the S-Flex 1600 and it only has a 3 pin connector. I have 2 aux 3-pin connecters on the board i could use.. but i was under the impression that you had to use the cpu 4-pin or the motherboard wouldnt like it.

i noticed that the 4-pin connector on the board can accept a 3-pin as well...

Just put the 3 pin plug, onto 3 of the pins of the 4 pin socket. It will only go on one way, theres a little plastic lug to make sure of that
