Yeah, I've heard the Cherrys are good but never used one. I know what you mean about the Logitechs though, some of their keyboards went downhill for a while, sticking keys, poor layout, etc.

In the space of one model the Logitech ultra flat series went from really solid, work-a-day keyboard, with key action lasting up 18 months with heavy, heavy use to having an extremely plasticky, made in bargain basement China, feel to them. I actually thought they were taking the piss at first. The Cherry for the money is outstanding value if you like the ultra flat keyboards - I might get a couple more for spare in case they go the same way as the Logitech's, which is more than likely thinking about it.

Hi mate, i reckon ill leave her at 3825mhz 1.38, unless you have any other clever tricks for me to try?
If not, i wont cry my eyes out, i like how she runs now anyways, i might try one of those Q9450 R0 stepping chips when they appear later in the year.
I tried upping the VTT to 1.250 and had the NB way high up to 1.5ish but it seems to take 1.47v to get it to behave at 4050mhz.
Ill work on getting the Volts down now. Also i have changed the RAM timings to 4 4 4 12 @ 850 and they seem happy now too.
Cheers.

Here is where I have got "Beryl" to now. I think this will do until i get inspired. I am thinking either E8600/Q9450-R0 and HD4870X2 for the end of the year. I think this board deserves a better chip and card. I will probably go water at that point though.
Thank you to everyone who helped me get this far.

So i'm thinking i need to make some changes to this system. A bit of spit and polish i reckon to give the LT X48 something a bit more spicy to eat.
E8600s are on pre-order now so i think i will grab one of these with a H20-220 Compact to replace the E3110/s1283 and replace the 4850 with s1 for a 4870 with an HR-03 GT +HR-11 +1/2 HR-09 and some nice little MC14 sinks.
I will give my E3110/S1283 and 4850/S1 to my friend and sell his E6600/7600GS somehow.
I sold my old Xeon Asus system to a friend so I can buy the 4870 at the beginning of next month along with the TR cooling kit. I reckon ill wait a while before buying the E8600 though as they will be over priced for awhile i think.
I will post up my results with pics of course but 1st i need to check will all of this kit fit neatly specifically which type HR-09 will i need and will 2x92mm fans fit on the HR-03 GT?
Also is there a better compact kit than the H20-220 for not much more money?
Thanks as ever folks

If you wanna have 2x92mm on the HR03 GT you'll have to stack them one on top of the other.
It could make sense since the fins are very tightly spaced and the increased pressure could help the air get through; never tried it myself, but since i got a couple of good 80 mm fans to spare i might try it soon on my V2.

Would you say that a couple of decent 80mm's side by side would work better than stacked 92mm's?
Also remember we were talking about the HR-09s, i wonder which type you think would work best?

I reckon Type 3, (i'm waiting one right now), and i'm not sure if you could properly fit 2 80mm fans on the HR03, it really is made to accept 1x92mm.
Maybe if you made a shroud..

I have been looking into this i like the idea of a shroud.
I might attempt to take two 92mm and mount them in a kind of Pyramid with Triangular shields to channel the air back onto the card.
Would you mind posting up some pics of your type 3 if you find time when you get it please?
I would like to get an idea of the layout in realtion to the coolers footprint.
I think the 3870 and 4870 are quite similar layout wise arent they?
Is it the U or S version you have comming?
Thanks

If i remember correctly, S, but with a HR03 GT it won't matter i think you will be able to avoid modding the HR09 with that.
