Thanks for the elastic band tip, so simple its genius. Another tip for marking out is to print out onto a large sticky label the mounting hole and center hole positions.
You may have a little more cleaning up to do after removing the adhesive label, but you can be a little more accurate with hole measurements if you are really anal about getting them just right!
