17th August 08 BlackOps Build

I’ve just had a good if frustrating couple of weeks. Decided to move my machine-2 over to my place which would give me more hands on time, though the boss is not best pleased since it’s on the dining table but I have till the Bank Holiday weekend, when we get a visit from the family…

Ok back two week so the beginning of August!

After having what I thought was a set of stable setting it all went bad on Machine...

31 July Update!
Quick Update: Been in/away in Switzerland again but maintained the dialogue on the QX9770 BIOS issue with the Foxconn team, and at last the Quantum team have confirmed there are some issues with the QX9770 because its FSB is higher than the norm.. So looking forward to the next BIOS update and hopefully find some gains, though chance is they’ll just be what I’ve already discovered but I’m hoping!

My next steps will be trying to first reduce...

My once trusty P5K Deluxe WiFi AP has kicked the bucket just outside it's one year warranty with scan, but it does have another years warranty with Asus.

I had heard that Asus RMA was a real pain, so here is a real time report.

22 July Blackops Build - Actual!
So a little behind plan but not an issue since we don’t have a time line or at least we didn’t think so till the bench testing area looked like it was becoming an issue, with those that must be obeyed!

• So we’d developed a couple of issues with the BlackOps; a funny that stopped the CPU running at default speeds when the mobo was at default settings.
• The memory was not performing in the sense it was holding...
