Sending the P5K Back to Asus!

Posted 23-07-2008 at 17:26 by Clunk
My once trusty P5K Deluxe WiFi AP has kicked the bucket just outside it's one year warranty with scan, but it does have another years warranty with Asus.

I had heard that Asus RMA was a real pain, so here is a real time report.

22/07/2008.

Decided to RMA the board. Checked the Asus website and there are only online RMA forms for US customers.

23/07/2008.

Rang the number on the website to be told that I needed to email some firm about getting an RMA request number (CreativeComputing.net).

Sent an email off to them at 15:43 today.

16:45pm I received an email with a link to the creativecomputing.net website.

I was slightly horrified to see that I had to "buy" an RMA request for £16.

I'm speechless - I've emailed them asking what exactly this charge is for as the board is under warranty with them.

I will update when they reply.
