Default Non Benched shots

4531.84 MHz (503.54 * 9) think that maxes out my memory will go to 1:1.00
Not stable enough to bench ,more interested in upping fsb. Still passed 500 vcore at 1.4125v

Hi everyone,

I'm quit interested in this chip. I currently have an E6600. Will the E8400 run in a Maximus Formula with 0505 BIOS or do I need to upgrade first.

Or would a Q6600 Go be a better choice?

should be no problem re the maximus , don't use one so some one else can help you re the bios.

8400 v Q6600

depends what your using it for, the E8400 is great fun with high fsb., but it's 2 coes short which can make a big difference look at the benches here 9x450 1.1.20 = 1080Mhz Bios vcore = 1.375v yes the pi benches are faster on the 8400 but check out the wprime scores, the quad wins here see 9x450 1.1.20 = 1080Mhz Bios vcore = 1.375v.

It's a bit like memory you can go for fast memory, low latency or bandwidth. it's similar with the these cpus 8400 v q6600 .

In the end it's bandwidth that wins. Multi-Core Confrontation: Core 2 Quad Q6600 vs. Core 2 Duo E6850

luck

Default Changed Bios command line gets 45ns support in bios 12

Has been a strange day today, saw a couple of people using bios 12 with 8400's . So this afternoon i thought i'd give it another try.

if you remember from the last episode Abit IX38 QuadGt isn't 45nm ready I had a nightmare using 12 & other bios , getting c1 errors etc., even at stock.

I thought back this morning & realised that i did something different when i flashed to bios 11 . i did it manually using the switches found here Ace-a-Rue's Bios Flashing Procedure
Quote:
A:AWDFLASH.EXE(space)M629B_16.B03(space)/e /py /sn /wb /cd /cp /cc /cks
comparing the above with the command line from ABITFAE.BAT
Quote:
AWDFLASH.EXE %1 /py /sn /cc /cd /cp /cks /f /r
we find they are different. alll flashes i made yesterday up to using 11 used the 2nd line.

This afternon i altered the ABITFAE.BAT to use aces command line. I now have afully functional multiplier with 0.5 's as well.

I've been doing a bit of ocing, broke the 500 x9 , a few decent crashes, but no C!.

So i think the errors i had yesterday may be down to corrupt dmi which was corted by the flasjh using aces command line.

It makes me wonder if the issues we've seen people have with non functional multi's may be down to the bios flash command line.
