Default 8x450 21Hr Prime Stable

CPU-Z Validation

Prime

Temps

CPU

PWM : Max 72C Idle 41C (Active 60mm Fan Cooling)

Benches
Memory Timings have been set to 24/7 rather than performance 4,5,5,12 which would require a higher voltage, which i don't want to use 24/7. As tested already 2) VDIMM
load adds 0.04v to vdimm.

Bios Settings
Was quite suprised that i manged to get away with such low voltages. Have generally found that 8x450 needs more vcore & MCH than 9x400 but not in this case. Guess my 9x400 settings could be revisited with lower vcore, mch & vtt.

Default Getting Closer 495x8

Revisited FSB tried 495, unllike earlier attempts i put memory on SPD.

495x8 CPU-Z
Didn't run Pi thinking i'd put memory timings back to 4,4,4,12.

Repeated test with manual timings & no boot again. Think this might be further support for olliewbnn's doubts about the memory controller.

Code:
ABIT IX38 QuadGT

OC GURU:

CPU OPERATING SPEED................ - USER DEFINE
EXTERNAL CLOCK..................... - 495 MHz
MULTIPLIER FACTOR.................. - x 8
ESTIMATED NEW CPU CLOCK.......... - 3960 MHz
DRAM SPEED (CPU/DRAM)........... - 1:1 DDR2- 990
PCI EXPRESS CLOCK.................. - 104MHz

VOLTAGE CONTROL:

CPU CORE VOLTAGE................... - 1.500V
CPU Core Voltage Offset............ .- 0.060V
Target CPU Core Voltage............ - 1.560V
DDR2 VOLTAGE....................... ..- 2.175V
CPU VTT VOLTAGE.................... - 1.55V
MCH 1.25V VOLTAGE..................- 1.55V
ICH 1.05V VOLTAGE.................. - 1.12 V
ICHIO 1.5V VOLTAGE................. - 1.50V
DDR2 REFERENCE VOLTAGE............. Default
CPU GTLREF 0+2..................... - 68%
CPU GTLREF 1+4..................... - 67%

ADVANCED CHIPSET FEATURES:

DRAM TIMING SELECTABLE............. - SPD
PCIE Root Port Function............ - V1.0A
PEG FORCE X1....................... - DISABLED

ADVANCED BIOS FEATURES / CPU FEATURES:
THERMAL CONTROL.................. - ENABLEDl
 C1E FUNCTION....................... - DISABLED
 EXECUTE DISABLE BIT................ - DISABLED
 VIRTUALISATION TECHNOLOGY.......... - DISABLED
 EIST FUNCTION...................... - DISABLED
So if anyone has any ideas to get the last 5 give me a shout

Lasted about 2 minutes into the burn on occt
Decent score though seeing as i didn't particularly push the ram.

Edit:
CPU-Z Validation - 4230 Redel??
Ran 1<M pi but 32M only did about 19 loos before the Not Exact.

PWM Temps
After pondering the significance of the PWM temps in posts
Posts# 76~80 Thought id do a bit more.
I ran the last couple of hours this am with the PWM fan turned off. Guru Shows Max Pwm of 93C. Case is closed. Below the Guru Box is the Tbalancer software showing the temps from the digital sensors attached to a memory module & a 2nd on the side of the Pwm heatsink. I don't appear to be experiencing any extra heat than when running the Asus p5k or Gigabyte X38 DQ6. It clearly makes sense to actively cool the PWM which brings the Guru tems down to around 72C.
